| JOURNEY TO THE MOTHERLAND! TOURS TO AFRICA!Vacation is a very important occasion in the life of the average American worker, it is that special time to break the monotonous routine of getting up early in the morning, fighting the subway and bus crowd, the rush hour traffic both to and from work and repeating that cycle over and over and over again. We all look forward to the chance to just stay home and relax for a couple of weeks, take a trip to the mountain resorts, Las Vegas, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean to lounge on the beautiful sandy beaches, dance in the clubs at night and soak up the sun. A trip to Africa offers all of that and more! West Africa has some of the worlds most beautiful beaches, lush resorts and of course plenty of sun. In addition to all these wonderfully relaxing things to do, Africa offer great excitement! As the plane nears the continent, you can almost hear, but certainly can feel the beat of the drum, beckoning you to the cradle of civilization, the bosom of humanity. A vacation tour to West Africa offers you the most memorable vacation that you will ever have, I say memorable because unlike many othe vacation spots, particularly for people of color, from the United States or the Caribbean, Africa offer a link to history past, a return to the Motherland, the birthplace of humanity, and certainly for African people in the Diaspora, Africa offers a return home from a 500 year sojourn in the west. Goree Island, Elmina dungeon, and the other slave ports that contain the "Door Of No Return" is defied by returning Africans from the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean. The link with culture and customs that for the most part still remains in the most parts of West Africa, where African American and African Caribbean can recognize and relate to their history. The excitement and festive times of celebration that are constantly being played out in the daily lives of the people, the interesting villages, of course the beautiful children, and the colors are a photographers delight. One does not have an awful lot of time to just lounge because the sights are man, the marketplaces are more than just gorgeous handicrafts, but a testing ground for the excitement and skill of bartering. You can literally "Shop Til You Drop". A trip to West Africa is like a pilgrimage, a spiritual rejuvenation, a journey filled with emotional experiences, full of fun and wonderment.
